• Automated Security Design can offer a pedestrian gate system to suit almost any application.  Once we have established your specific requirements, we can then advise you on the solutions available and look to provide a system which exceeds your expectations, but fits within your financial constraints.

• There are two basic types of pedestrian gate system, as detailed below:

 

1. Manual operated pedestrian gate - This is by far the most popular system.  When the gate is closed it is automatically locked by a magnetic lock.  When someone wishes to pass through the gate, the lock is disengaged by the access control system associated to it e.g. intercom, fob reader, keypad, press to exit button, etc.  The gate can then be pushed open by hand and it will automatically return to the closed position by use of a closer device.

2. Automated pedestrian gate - As the name would suggest, this is a fully automated system which allows the gate to open & close without the user having to push the gate open.  As with the manual operated gate, it is held closed by a magnetic lock and can be opened via numerous access control devices. However, the movement of the gate in both directions is controlled by a motorised operator.
